SLEEPING BEAUTY FOOTNOTE JAN 11TH 2007

Sold out every night! Wonderful accolades! Standing ovations!

Well the 'sleeping it off' is over. Time to take stock. Bringing a show from conception to delivery has all kinds of metaphoric comparison possibilities, but we will leave you to figure those out.

We are working with Alina and Francine on a detailed post show report and recommendations to go to the Board in a week or two. For now, suffice it to say we were delighted with the show overall.

Highlights for both of us centre on the wonderful collaboration that evolved as we all worked towards the best show we could achieve. We felt privileged to have an amazing cast; talented, hardworking and always ready to go the extra step for the good of the group. How splendid that a group of performers with such diverse ages (9 to 75) and interests (hockey teams to crocheted hats) could work so well together. Really the whole was so much greater than the sum of the individuals.

Thank yous were delivered profusely at the post show party but can we say again a big thank you to our producers Alina and Francine? No show would happen without producers and these two should write a 'how to' book.

We also want to say thanks again to Laurel as she steps down from the conductor's podium. We covered a lot of miles under her guidance in the last 14 years and have a store of memories and experiences to treasure. We are happy she brought us from Dick Whittington to Sleeping Beauty with such musical good humour.

It was a little hard to say goodbye to this family that grew so much together in the space of 4 months, but already some of us are regrouping ready for the next new Mudds 'baby'. To all of you; 'break a leg' and keep on working hard at having fun.

Judith and Tony

REPORT ON PROGRESS TOWARDS CHARITABLE STATUS

1) Goal is to send the application away before Feb 6.

2) Met with Louise Link on Jan 10 and now have a budget to present to CRA.

3) Now have to fill in the forms together with explanatory notes, then collect the final information I need, including that constitution signed off by board members.

4) When the whole package is together, I would like to run it past Martin Ruben of the VPs, who is responsible for their annual reports to the CRA.

5) Anyone on the board who wants to see the package is welcome.

6) Next report to Pat Black, President will be in February.

LATEST POLICIES ENACTED BY MUDDS BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

October 21, 2006

1. A request had been received by the Mudds to borrow some 1940s style costumes.

It has been decided to charge a $10.00 fee for the rental of costumes for private functions.

December 16, 2006

2. A standard mileage rate for Mudds Board Members to cover Mudds related travel expenses has been set at 0.40/km. Travel to be approved prior to submission of expenses.

3. When tickets are printed for shows, a statement of 'NO REFUNDS' to be added. This issue came up due to poor weather conditions for one of the performances of Sleeping Beauty, people wanting to change their tickets when they couldn't attend. With all performances sold out, this could not be accommodated.
